EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (CN) - A lawsuit over a mouse in a can of Mountain Dew, which made international headlines, has come to a quiet end.
Ronald Ball reached a confidential settlement with Pepsico, his attorney told the Madison County Record.
Ball sued Pepsico in Madison County Court in 2009.
The case went viral after Pepsi's defense was made public - that the mouse would have been transformed into a jellylike substance had it been in the soda for that long.
"They (Pepsi) maintained their denial of liability," attorney Ed Unsell told the Record. "It was settled for an undisclosed sum. It's a done deal, and both parties are on their way."
Ball claimed he found the body of a dead mouse in a Mountain Dew can that he bought out of a vending machine at his workplace at Marathon Oil in Wood River on Nov. 10, 2008.
