Service Dogs

Resolving a complaint that it violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by refusing to allow a service dog into a courtroom, Macon County, Tennessee, agreed to post signs around the courthouse and on the court’s website to indicate that service dogs are permitted on the premises, and to train employees on the use of service dogs.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Resolving a complaint that it violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by refusing to allow a service dog into a courtroom, Macon County, Tennessee, agreed to post signs around the courthouse and on the court’s website to indicate that service dogs are permitted on the premises, and to train employees on the use of service dogs.
