Sentencing for R. Kelly associate

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Recognizing his cooperation with the government, a federal judge gave a sentence of time served Wednesday to a friend of R. Kelly, the disgraced R&B singer and convicted sex trafficker.

Richard Arline Jr. admitted that he offered a victim hush money to discourage her from testifying at Kelly’s trial, but the judge said that she does not believe Arline will commit future crimes.

Charged alongside Arline were Michael Williams, who pleaded guilty to arson and was sentenced to eight years in prison, and Donnell Russell, who has pleaded not guilty to blackmailing an accuser and faces trial in August.
