WASHINGTON (CN) - In response to the Texas Republicans' fast one, S 2342, by Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D., would "prohibit states from carrying out more than one congressional redistricting after a decennial census and apportionment, (and) require states to conduct such redistricting through independent commissions. S 2353, by Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., would "increase the annual salaries of justices and judges of the United States, and ... increase fees for bankruptcy trustees." HR 4187, by Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., would "amend title 28, United States Code, to provide for an additional judgeship for the western district of Michigan." And S 2358, by Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., would "prohibit human-animal hybrids."
