Senate Panel Backs Sotomayor on 13-6 Vote

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday voted 13-6 to approve Judge Sonia Sotomayor's Supreme Court nomination, moving her closer to becoming the high court's first Hispanic justice. Of the seven Republicans on the panel, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina was Sotomayor's lone supporter. The full Senate is expected to vote next week.
