Seismometers and Bribery

The Ninth Circuit affirmed a South Korean citizen’s conviction for money laundering. The man, who was the director of a government funded research institute, solicited and received payments from two seismometer manufacturers. In exchange, he ensured them that the research institute would purchase their products.
