Seed Could Carry Bacteria

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has issued an emergency rule to prohibit importation of seed of certain citrus from countries in which citrus greening or citrus variegated chlorosis is present.

From all other countries, the seed must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate that says the bacterial diseases are not present in the countries from which the seed is imported.
