Securities Fraud

The SEC claims in federal court that under the direction of its chief business officer, defendant Ruben James Rojas, 56, of Corona, Calif., the Montebello Unified School District sold $100 million in municipal bonds to public investors, while concealing that Montebello’s independent auditor had raised concerns about potential fraud and internal controls problems at the district.
