Dow Corning and two other companies claim Merrill Lynch fraudulently induced them to buy $166 million in auction rate securities by misrepresenting them as highly liquid and safe, in Manhattan Federal Court.

The other plaintiffs in the Merrill Lynch case are Hemlock Semiconductors and Devonshire Underwriters.
