SEC Whacks SoCal Software Exec

SAN DIEGO (CN) - Barry Schechter and cohorts inflated the earnings of software company Island Pacific, now known as Retail Pro, and Schechter reaped $488,410 through stock fraud, the SEC claims in Federal Court.

Schechter lives in La Jolla. His company was based in Irvine, with an office in La Jolla.

The SEC also sued Island Pacific CFO Ran Furman, of San Diego, and CEO Harvey Braun, of Livingston, N.J.
