SEC Whacks Former Portfolio Manager

WASHINGTON (CN) - The SEC administratively charged former Oppenheimer & Co. portfolio manager Brian Williamson with misleading investors.

Oppenheimer, 42, of Newtown, Pa., has agreed to pay $2.8 million to settle the charges, the SEC said in a statement.

It claims he helped Oppenheimer Global Resource Private Equity Fund I, which he managed, raise $61 million by misrepresenting its valuation.
