SEC Wants Alleged Insider Trader To Talk

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. (CN) - The U.S. SEC seeks to compel the testimony of John Boddie, whom it suspects of inside trading in Placer Dome stock just before an acquisition announcement sent share price up by 20 percent.

The SEC alleges in the underlying suit in Manhattan Federal Court that Boddie traded on inside information provided by John Cameron Fraleigh, and that the cheaters reaped $4 million in all - but Boddie got only $34,000. See complaint in BC Supreme Court.
