SEC Tries to Enforce Better Writing In Docs

WASHINGTON - The SEC voted unanimously on Wednesday "to propose rule amendments requiring investment advisers to prepare and deliver to clients and prospective clients a narrative brochure written in plain English." In a perhaps Quixoticeffort to givemembers of the public the same information as insiders and Wall Street players, the plain-speaking brochures would available to the public on the SEC-sponsored Investment Adviser Public Disclosure Web site.
