SEC Says Steel Exec Paid Bribes

PORTLAND, ORE. (CN) - Robert W. Philip, former CEO of Schnitzer Steel Industries, had more than $1.9 million in bribes paid to managers of steel mills in China and South Korea, so they would buy $500 million worth of scrap metal from Schnitzer, the SEC claims in Federal Court. See complaint.
