School Seeks $71,000|From Boy Who Set Fire

LAS VEGAS (CN) - The Clark County School District, which in 2005 was America's fifth-largest school district, wants more than $71,000 from a student it says caused a fire in a boy's high school locker room. The district says in Clark County Court that Ryan Wohlgemuth started the fire in April 2008 at Palo Verde High School.

The boy was arrested and ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution as part of a plea deal, the lawsuit states.

But, the district says Wohlgemuth has only made $453.35 in restitution payments, and now it's asking the boy's parents to pay for repairs.

The district is represented by Scott Greenberg.
