The Ninth Circuit affirmed Monday that San Bernardino County, the Etiwanda School District and sheriff’s officers violated the constitutional rights of three middle-school girls who were arrested in school, “to prove a point,” after repeated accusations of bullying, fighting and disrespect.

PASADENA, Calif. — The Ninth Circuit affirmed Monday that San Bernardino County, the Etiwanda School District and sheriff’s officers violated the constitutional rights of three middle-school girls who were arrested in school, “to prove a point,” after repeated accusations of bullying, fighting and disrespect. The court also upheld denial of qualified immunity to the arresting officers.
