LOS ANGELES (CN) - "Scandal" TV star Columbus Short has been charged with punching out a man at a West Hollywood bar.
Short plays Harrison Wright on "Scandal," a hit ABC drama starring Kerry Washington.
Prosecutors said Short was arrested Wednesday on one count of felony battery with serious bodily injury.
Short, 31, was booked at the Claremont police station and released on $50,000 bail.
"Short allegedly punched a male guest at a West Los Angeles restaurant on March 15, knocking the victim out," the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.
The alleged assault was at Gabe's Bar & Grill. According to a witness, Short broke the 37-year-old man's nose after the two men got into an argument.
Deputy District Attorney Lester Kuriyama filed the felony complaint and arrest warrant on Tuesday in an investigation headed by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Short could face up to 4 years in state prison.
