San Fran PR Man Faces Weapons Arraignment

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - After a three-day FBI manhunt, a public relations consultant who worked on California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom's mayoral campaign is set to be arraigned Tuesday on one charge of possessing an illegal destructive device.

FBI officials released a third redacted complaint against Ryan Kelly Chamberlain on Wednesday, noting that an unsealed federal affidavit and criminal complaint previously contained Chamberlain's personal information, including his address and last place of employment.

Chamberlain, 49, was arrested on June 2 near the Golden Gate Bridge after FBI agents discovered bomb-making materials in his apartment. According to the affidavit, those materials included a powdery, green substance, an igniter for homemade bombs, ball bearings and screws, and a model rocket motor, all purchased on the Internet's black market.

Records of lethal poisons purchased on the dark web and shipped to Chamberlain prompted FBI officials to raid Chamberlain's apartment after several weeks of surveillance.

Chamberlain remains in custody, as U.S. District Judge Nathanael Cousins has refused to let him post bail.
