Sam Kinison’s Widow Claims Forged Will

LOS ANGELES (CN) - The widow of late comedian Sam Kinison is claiming Kinison's brother forged a will to divert assets away from the widow.

Malika Borghese, in a complaint filed in Superior Court, alleged that William Kinison told her about Sam's purported will shortly after she was released from the hospital after recovering from injuries sustained in the 1992 automobile crash that ended Sam Kinison's life.

"Plaintiff was suprrised by W. Kinison's assertion, as she knew Sam Kinison to be superstitious in regards to wills, believing that a will would somehow be bad luck or inviting trouble," the suit said.

Borghese, however, said she had no "concrete reason" to doubt the will then but now believes that William created it to gain control of parts of his brother's estate that should have gone to her.

The widow says that a friend of Sam's told her in 2007 that he was a party to the forgery along with William.

Since creating the will, William has been licensing Sam's voice, name and likeness, the suit said.

The complaint was filed by Todd Bonder of Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman.
