Trump Tax Law

MANHATTAN — The Second Circuit affirmed dismissal of a suit by New York, New Jersey and other high-tax states that challenged the Trump administration's $10,000 cap on how much state and local taxes taxpayers can deduct from their total taxable income.

The cap on SALT deductions, short for state and local taxes, hurt 10 states with the highest taxes, all of which were represented in the Senate by Democrats and Vermont’s Bernie Sanders, who is an Independent.
