Salmonella-Laced Fertilizer Cost It Plenty, Organic Vegetable Producer Says

SAN JOSE (CN) - Oceano Packing Co. claims True Organic Products and Western Farm Service sold it True 10-5-2 fertilizer that contaminated their crops with e. coli and salmonella. Oceano claims in Federal Court that defective processing of the chicken manure-based fertilizer made it unable to fulfill contracts to deliver 1.4 million lbs. of organic crops, costing it more than $1 million.
