PHILLIPSVILLE, Calif. (CN) - A woman who attacked her boyfriend with a pitchfork over the weekend remained at large, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department reported Tuesday.
Paula Sue Darling, 45, is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence after stabbing and scratching a 66-year-old man with a pitchfork and brandishing an ax at him, the Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
An argument erupted between the two, who had a dating relationship, on Saturday, the Department said.
"During the argument, Darling grabbed an ax and [the victim] kicked it out of her hand. Darling then grabbed a nearby pitchfork and started swinging it at the victim, then stabbed at his torso with it. The victim put his arm up to protect himself and she stabbed him in the left forearm," according to the Sheriff's statement.
Although bleeding from his face and arm, the victim declined medical attention, the Department said. His name was not released.
"Deputies checked the area for Darling but could not locate her. A be-on-the-lookout to all area law enforcement was issued for Darling," the Department said. Darling is described as white, five feet, five inches tall and 145 pounds with strawberry blond hair and blue eyes.
A spokesperson with the Sheriff's Department was not available for comment Wednesday.
Phillipsville, in rural Humboldt County, has a population of 140 according to the 2010 census.
