A Moroccan court’s more than $100 million judgment against hair product and tequila tycoon John Paul DeJoria will not be recognized, the Fifth Circuit ruled. DeJoria started an oil company in Morocco in 1999 that failed, after the king had announced that it would make the country energy independent for 30 years. 

NEW ORLEANS – A Moroccan court’s more than $100 million judgment against hair product and tequila tycoon John Paul DeJoria will not be recognized, the Fifth Circuit ruled. DeJoria started an oil company in Morocco in 1999 that failed, after the king had announced that it would make the country energy independent for 30 years. 

The circuit court found that DeJoria was denied due process in Morocco.
