Ronee Blakley Sues Lainie Kazan for Accident

LOS ANGELES (CN) – Actress-singer Ronee Blakley has sued fellow actress and singer Lainie Kazan, claiming she was injured when Kazan got into a car accident in March.
Blakley, probably best known for her role in Robert Altman’s “Nashville,” sued Kazan aka Lainie Levine in Superior Court on Tuesday for general negligence, claiming she was passenger in Kazan’s car when the defendant “caused an accident” on Ventura Boulevard in Tarzana on March 22.
This is the second time Blakley has taken legal action this year. In April, she sued the father of her daughter, screenwriter Carroll Cartwright, for $3 million, claiming he portrayed her as a bad mother in his screenplay for the contemporary retelling of the Henry James novel, “What Maisie Knew.”
Kazan has appeared in dozens of movies and television shows, including “Desperate Housewives,” “Modern Family” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Blakley claims the accident caused her wage losses, loss of use of property, hospital and medical expenses, general damage, property damage and loss of earning capacity.
Blakley was married to filmmaker Wim Wenders for three years, before they ended their marriage in 1981. As well as appearing in the ensemble cast of Robert Altman’s “Nashville,” she also acted in the 80’s horror, “Nightmare on Elm St.”
She seeks compensatory damages and is represented by Brian Nelson.
A representative for Kazan did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
