Robert Durst to Be Arraigned Monday in LA

LOS ANGELES (CN) - New York real estate scion Robert Durst arrived in Los Angeles Friday and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon on a murder charge, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

FBI agents arrested Durst in March 2015 in New Orleans for the 2000 murder of his friend, journalist and author Susan Berman.

Soon after the arrest, in the sixth and final episode of HBO's documentary about Durst, "The Jinx," the heir was heard mumbling into a mic: "What did I do? I killed them all, of course."

The series linked Durst to the disappearance of his wife Kathie in New York in 1982.

Durst had admitted to killing his neighbor in Galveston, chopping up his body and disposing of its parts in Galveston Bay.

He was acquitted after his defense attorneys persuaded a jury that he was acting in self-defense.

A movie version of Durst's story, Andrew Jarecki's 2010 feature "All Good Things," depicted Kathie's disappearance and the events in Galveston.

In the movie, Ryan Gosling played the Durst-inspired lead, David Marks.

Durst reportedly enjoyed the movie so much he contacted Jarecki and offered him the exclusive interviews that led to the making of the filmmaker's six-part documentary series.

Durst will appear at the Airport Courthouse on Monday at 1:30 p.m.

He had been in federal prison in Louisiana after entering a guilty plea on a weapons charge.

"We have been ready for some time. I'm glad we're going to start proceedings," Dick DeGuerin, an attorney for Durst told the LA Times. "He's going to get his day in court."
