NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Supreme Court ruled the state’s Republican party did not violate the state’s Open Meetings Act when it decided during a nonpublic meeting that Robby Starbuck — who wished to run for Congress — wasn’t a “bona fide” Republican. The ruling reverses a lower court’s decision that had ordered Starbuck restored to the ballot.
