LOS ANGELES — An appeals court in California ruled in favor of Zum drivers who claim the company, an app that allows customers to schedule rides for children, misclassified them as independent contractors. The trial court compelled the case to arbitration but the drivers filed their claims under the Private Attorneys General Act, so they cannot be compelled into arbitration.
