NEWARK (CN) - Aetna and CIGNA insurance companies use a flawed, outdated Ingenix Prevailing Health Care System Database and default formulas to cheat out-of-network providers, the American Medical Association and five state Medical Associations say in two class action RICO antitrust complaints in Federal Court.
The medical societies of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Texas and North Carolina and individual physicians joined as plaintiffs. Lead counsel in both cases is James Cecchi with Carella, Byrne & Bain of Roseland, N.J.
