Retraction

An item published in the March 16, 2010 issue of this page under the headline, "Family Dispute Gets Nasty for Fantasy Artist," which reported on the allegations in a civil complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Alfonso Frank Frazetta aka Frank Frazetta, Jr., son of comic book fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, Sr., was incorrect due to a misidentification of the plaintiff in the lawsuit.

The plaintiff should have been identified as Frazetta Properties, LLC, an entity managed by Frank Frazetta, Sr.'s other children. According to the complaint, on August 14, 2009, Frank Frazetta, Sr. transferred and assigned to Frazetta Properties LLC all of the artwork created by him prior to that date and all attendant intellectual property rights in the artwork, as well as rights to manage, license, and promote Frazetta Sr.'s artwork. The current managers of Frazetta Properties are Heidi Grabin, Holly Frazetta Taylor, and William Frazetta.

Frazetta Sr. is not a party to the lawsuit. The allegations in the lawsuit should have been attributed to Frazetta Properties, LLC and not Frank Frazetta, Sr.

Courthouse News Service regrets the error.
