Retired Border Patrol|Boss Gets 10 Years

SAN DIEGO (CN) - A retired border patrolman was sentenced Monday to 10 years in federal prison for child pornography.

Lawson Hardrick Jr., 64, was the assistant director of the Calexico ports of entry, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement announcing his sentence.

After a two-day trial in January a federal jury convicted him of two felony counts of receiving images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

"According to the forensic evidence introduced at trial, the defendant received videos of children as young as 4 and 9 years old through a file-sharing program in 2008 through 2010," prosecutors said in the statement.

Hardrick, of Calexico, was a supervisory special agent for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
