Rescued Girl Tells|Police of Sexual Horror

SAN LUIS OBISPO (CN) - A 16-year-old boy prostituted his 15-year-old girlfriend to more than 15 men before police rescued her by kicking in a motel room door, San Luis Obispo police said.

Nikko Xaiver Anaya, of Manteca, has been charged as an adult with felony human trafficking and dissuading a witness.

Also charged with human trafficking are Brianna Day Morales, 20; Fabio Bettencourt Silveira, 20, both of Chico; and Elijah Joel Wolfson, 19, of Manteca.

The girl, whose family had reported her missing, managed to contact her father while the suspects had gone out for food on July 28, San Luis Obispo police said. She was scared and crying after police kicked in the door.

Here is the story as she told it to San Luis Obispo police.

She had met Anaya, a junior in high school, on Instagram roughly four months ago. They had a sexual relationship but the victim said she didn't think Anaya felt the same way about her as she did him.

On July 23, she agreed to go to Santa Cruz with him. There they met Wolfson, who is Anaya's cousin, and Morales, a friend of Wolfson's. They went out to dinner, and Anaya paid for the victim's food. When they checked into a motel in Santa Cruz, Anaya said that since he had bought her dinner, she owed him. When a man knocked on the motel door, he told her she would have sex with him for a half an hour for $180.

She told police she felt obligated because Anaya said it was OK and because he was supporting her.

After she had sex with the first man, she began to "freak out," realizing what had happened. So Anaya gave her cocaine to calm her down.

Anaya had already posted an ad for her on the Internet, soliciting men to have sex with her. The ad did not include photos of the braces-wearing victim's youthful face, but it showed her body in underwear and a bra. Advertising a "petite Filipina," the ad said she was 19 and boasted: "I provide a 5 star experience every time. Treat me like an angel & I'll take you to heaven."

The ad sought "upscale, hygienic, well mannered men," but "No African American Men!"

After the first night, Morales drove the group to San Luis Obispo County, where they met with Silveira.

Meanwhile, a missing persons report was filed in Manteca.

In San Luis Obispo County, the group drove to different houses, pimping the victim for money. They also stayed at motels, where men arrived to have sex with her.

One day, she told police, she had sex with nine men, from 4 p.m. to 11 a.m. the next day. She was not allowed to keep any of the money.

Last Tuesday, the group arrived at a Best Western in San Luis Obispo. Shortly after checking in, the suspects left to get food. While they were away, the victim contacted her parents and told them she needed help. Her father called police in Manteca, who called police in San Luis Obispo.

During her interview with police, the victim said she had sex with 15 to 20 men.

When questioned by police, Anaya, whom Silveira referred to as "Little Man," demanded an attorney, and the interview ended.

Anaya and Silveira appeared in San Luis Obispo Superior Court Friday. Their arraignments were continued to Aug. 12 and Aug. 5, respectively.

Anaya, whose family was in the courtroom, appeared in the doorway of the jury room, away from adult defendants. He is being held at the county's juvenile services center on $100,000 bail. Silveira is in jail under $100,000 bond for the human trafficking case and $50,000 for an unrelated case, which includes charges of bringing drugs, alcohol or paraphernalia to county jail.

Morales, who posted bail, is to appear in court Aug. 12.

Wolfson, who was detained on an arrest warrant in San Joaquin County, is being held in jail there, and will be transported to San Luis Obispo County.

It's the second human trafficking case involving teenage victims in San Luis Obispo County in the past year. Richard Scott Brooks, of San Francisco, faces several felony charges accusing him of prostituting a 17-year-old Los Osos girl he met on Craigslist while her mother was out of town on vacation.
