Republican Governors Funneled $1 Million Illegally To Rick Perry, Dem Says

AUSTIN (CN) – The **Republican Governors Association and Texans for Rick Perry illegally funneled $1 million from Houston homebuilder Bob Perry to Rick Perry’s 2006 campaign for governor, two days before the election, Perry’s defeated Democratic opponent Chris Bell claims in Travis County Court.     Bell claims the Republican Governors Association is not registered or qualified as a political committee in Texas or as a federal committee, that it accepted corporate contributions in violation of Texas law, and did not file any contribution or expenditure reports as required by Texas law.     Bell is represented by Randall Wood with Ray, Wood & Bonilla.
