Regulating gun ads

SACRAMENTO — California Attorney General Rob Bonta was granted his motion to clarify a federal court’s preliminary injunction issued in sportsmen advocacy groups’ lawsuit challenging a state law that bans the marketing of firearms to minors. The injunction against the law only pertains a portion of the law prohibiting the firearms industry from placing ads or promotions for gun-related products in a way that might attract minors. It does not pertain to another subsection that focuses on the compilation and use of minors’ personal information to market firearm-related products to them.
