Recusal in Tax-Return Case

A federal judge in California recused himself from presiding over a lawsuit brought by four Californians who want to overturn a new state law that requires presidential candidates to release their tax returns in order to appear on the ballot.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A federal judge in California recused himself from presiding over a lawsuit brought by four Californians who want to overturn a new state law that requires presidential candidates to release their tax returns in order to appear on the ballot.

All of the pending dates before Judge John A. Mendez will be reset by whatever judge that takes over the case.
