‘Real World’ Invaded Her Privacy, Woman Says

WASHINGTON (CN) - A woman claims that cast members of MTV's "The Real World D.C." got her drunk and kicked her out of the show's house after she refused to have sex with a cast member, then called her a "hot mess," and "that ugly girl," and indicated on the show that she "was mentally unstable."

Golzar Amirmotazedi, 22, sued Viacom, MTV Networks and Bunim/Murray Productions for invasion of privacy and infliction of emotional distress. Amirmotazedi, who describes herself as "a 22-year-old female makeup artist of slight build who does not frequently drink alcoholic beverages," claims the long-running "reality" TV show did not get her consent to air the embarrassing footage.

According to her Superior Court complaint, Amirmotazedi and a friend were lured into a bar by cast members "Andrew" and "Josh." She says the cast members "fed" her eight to 10 mixed alcoholic drinks "as well as shots of Tequila and Jaegermester."

Amirmotazedi says Andrew and Josh took her back to the Real World house after leaving the bar, then kicked her out at 3 a.m., "because plaintiff did not desire to have sexual relations with one of the male cast members."

Amirmotazedi says she told the cast members "she was concerned about leaving because she was intoxicated and could not drive herself home, and because she did not want to be wandering around the District alone in the middle of the night."

She says The Real World aired her episode on March 10, calling it "Girlfriends and Dead Ends." On the show, Amirmotazedi says, Andrew called her a "girl he could not get rid of," implying that she was stalking him for sex.

Other cast members, she says, called her a "hot mess" and "that ugly girl," and the show publicized other embarrassing elements of her private life. "One case member even made a hand gesture to indicate her belief that plaintiff was mentally unstable," the complaint states.

Amirmotazedi says commentators on the Internet were even crueler. She says she was called a "crack whore," a "crazy bitch," Andrew's "weird stalker chick," and other degrading terms on blogs and message boards.

A contributor to the Express online newspaper wrote that she is "a dirty skank" and "she's the worst local representation of Washington," according to the complaint.

Amirmotazedi says the show has cost her employment opportunities and friends, and she has received harassing text messages and needs sleeping pills to fall asleep.

She seeks $5 million in compensatory damages, and punitive damages, for invasion of privacy, false light, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
