Rat Packer’s Son Hit With|$2.5M Suit Over Taxes

LOS ANGELES (CN) - The son of former "Rat Pack" member Sammy Davis Jr., was sued by the California Tax Board, accusing him of refusing to pay $5.2 million of his mother's outstanding personal income tax.

According to the suit filed Tuesday in Superior Court, Manny Davis assumed the responsibility of his parents' estate since Altovise Davis's death on March 14, 2009.

The California Tax Board claims that since July 2010, Manny Davis owes them about $5.2 million for taxes from 1978 to 1982, 1989, 1991 and 2007.

"No part of the sum ... has been paid by Decendent Davis, or by defendant Manny Davis," the suit states.

The California Tax Board wants Manny Davis to pay his mother's personal income taxes as well as for interests and other fees.

The board is represented by Deputy Attorney General Elisa Wolfe-Donato.
