PASADENA, Calif. - Rare Coin Wholesalers need not compensate a man who provided expertise on a "brasher doubloon," the Ninth Circuit ruled Thursday, finding that the coin was not the first legal-tender gold coin struck pursuant to an act of Congress, as the expert theorized.
