ST. LOUIS (CN) - Hip-hop artist Flame (Marcus Gray) claims in court that the Christian record label The Cross Movement Records stiffed him on royalties.

Gray sued the record label and its co-owner John Wells aka The Tonic, in City Court.
Gray claims he had an oral agreement with the defendants, to supply them recordings in return for royalties from sales.
He claims he gave the label several recordings that have been featured on albums since October 2004, but hasn't received payment or accountings.
"Upon information and belief, defendants have licensed, distributed, and sold records delivered by plaintiff and have earned considerable revenue therefrom," the complaint states. "Upon information and belief, defendants continue to license, distribute, and sell records delivered by plaintiff and continue to earn considerable revenue therefrom.
"To date, defendant have failed to render to plaintiff record royalties due and owing under their agreement as well as itemized and detailed accounting statements reflecting the same."
Gray seeks damages for breach of contract and unjust enrichment. He is represented by Eric Kayira, of Clayton, Mo.
