WASHINGTON (CN) - A Maryland businessman tied to several popular restaurants and concert venues now faces 12 counts related to secret surveillance equipment in a women's bathroom.
Kyle Muehlhauser, 37, is the president and co-owner of the Rams Head Group, the organization behind the concert venues Rams Head on Stage in Annapolis, Rams Head Center Stage at Maryland Live casino in Hanover and Rams Head Live in Baltimore.
It was the Severna Park man's Rams Head Tavern in Savage where police say a woman reported back in May 2014 that a digital camera fell beside her while she was using the restaurant's bathroom.
Howard County prosecutors initially charged Muehlhauser last week with six counts of visual surveillance with prurient intent. On Feb. 24, they filed six additional "peeping Tom" counts, the Baltimore Sun reported.
Muehlhauser turned himself in to police on Feb. 19 after a warrant was issued for his arrest; he was released on a $35,000 bond.
Prosecutors say that the footage from the Rams Head bathroom camera caught six women using the bathroom and showed Muehlhauser installing the equipment.
A DNA test allegedly matched Muehlhauser to the camera in December.
Rams Head Savage Mill posted on its Facebook page that "no other locations or incidents are involved."
Muehlhauser, who co-owns the company with his father, Bill Muehlhauser, recently attended a 25th anniversary party for the original Rams Head Tavern on West Street in Annapolis.
