LOS ANGELES (CN) - Former radio XTRA host Paolo Ochoa claims station director Julian Bohorquez demanded unprotected sexual intercourse as a condition of keeping her job, and that the station wrongfully fired her for protesting it. She also claims that Bohorquez falsely promised that the station could get her an H-1B immigrant visa if she had sex with him.
In her claim in Superior Court, Ochoa claims Bohorquez's harassment included elements of discrimination for her Mexican origin.
She was host of the "La Manana W" show on defendant GLR Network's XTRA station, aka Radio W690.
She claims the Spanish-language station fired her on a pretext to rid itself of responsibility because it knew Bohorquez had violated its alleged non-fraternization policy between management and employees.
She claims that Bohorquez "gratuitously represented to Ochoa that because of Bohorquez's position as director of production and operations at GLRSC that he had the power to cause GLRSC to file an H1B petition with the INS for the benefit of Ochoa. Such petition was very important to Ochoa because it would have the force and effect of stabilizing Ochoa's immigration status. Bohorquez indicated that the making of the INS petition was likewise conditions on Ochoa's compliance with Bohorquez's sexual demands."
She demands punitive damages for sexual harassment and wrongful firing. She is represented by Barry Silver.
