Queer spy show cleared of Lanham claims

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit upheld the dismissal of drag queen Vicky Vox’s lawsuit against Netflix and others connected to the short-lived animated show Q-Force. Vox was depicted in a 10-second scene as well as the official teaser and a still image promoting the series, prompting her false endorsement lawsuit over the presentation. Netflix’s use of her image and likeness in one episode and in the teaser material does not suggest or identify, the panel concluded, her as a source or origin of the show.
