Quadruple Amputee Blames Hospital

PORTLAND, Ore. (CN) - After doctors at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital discharged a woman without removing a 5-millimeter kidney stone, she went into septic shock and ultimately lost her lower left leg, right foot, left arm, and most of her right hand, the woman claims in Multnomah County Court.

Lynn Whitehead claims the hospital's failure to remove the stone interfered with circulation to her arms and legs. She says the hospital sent her home without describing the signs of septic shock, without explaining the necessary aftercare, and without telling her when to return to the hospital.

She and her husband demand $24 million in damages from Legacy Health System. They are represented by David Miller.
