Prosecutor without a legal license

RICHMOND, Va. — Does a criminal conviction have to be overturned if the prosecutor didn’t have a valid license to practice law when the trial occurred? No, ruled the Virginia Court of Appeals, in this unusual case involving a man convicted for aggravated sexual battery against his daughter. Her credible testimony was supported by sufficient evidence to convict; the fact the prosecution’s license was suspended for failure to pay dues does not warrant nullification.
