WASHINGTON (CN) - The Wounded in Action Family Foundation stiffed a composer and producer for 700 hours of work for its "Bringing Our Heroes Home" benefit concerts, and then "brazenly taunted" her about it, Louise Scott claims in court.
Louise Scott sued the Wounded in Action Family Foundation in Superior Court.
She claims the defendant nonprofit asked her to "produce and arrange" benefits concerts in Washington, D.C. and Boston.
She says she spent more than 700 hours "conceiving, creating, composing, drafting, writing and editing the original content of 'Bringing Our Heroes Home.'"
She also arranged venues for the benefits, including Constitution Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, and the Boston Pope and elsewhere, she says in the complaint.
She claims the foundation promised to pay her for the work, but didn't.
Then, she says, the defendants "brazenly taunted plaintiff Louise Scott that she would have to come to Virginia to sue defendant WIAFF."
But she didn't. She sued them in the District of Columbia.
She seeks no more than $74,999 for breach of contract.
