Pro golfer's defamation appeal dismissed

ATLANTA — A federal appeals court upheld the dismissal of professional golfer Patrick Reed’s defamation lawsuits against multiple journalists and media outlets, including the Golf Channel. The Eleventh Circuit ruled Reed failed to show actual malice and found no plausible facts that defendants knowingly published false statements about his ties to LIV Golf and alleged cheating history.
