Private Beaches

A federal judge in Florida refused to block a county ordinance closing local beaches in a suit brought by beachfront property owners, including former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.  In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the court ruled, “it seems highly likely … that the county has the authority to take the measures that it has in order to address the emergency.”
