Prison Gangster Pleads Guilty to Racketeering

(CN) - A member of the Universal Aryan Brotherhood prison gang has pleaded guilty to racketeering charges in Oklahoma, the Justice Department said Tuesday.

Ronnie Dean "Dirty Red" Haskins, 43, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to conduct a racketeering enterprise, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and two charges of violence committed in aid of racketeering before U.S. Magistrate Judge Frank McCarthy of the Northern District of Oklahoma on Tuesday morning.

As part of his guilty plea, Haskins acknowledged his membership in and involvement with the Universal Aryan Brotherhood, a violent "whites only" prison-based gang with members operating inside and outside of state prisons throughout Oklahoma, the Justice Department said.

Haskins conspired to racketeering activities to advance the prison gang's enterprise, including possessing and selling 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. He also admitted to orchestrating and participating in kidnapping and maiming a former Universal Aryan Brotherhood member who violated the gang's bylaws, the Justice Department said.
