ST. LOUIS (CN) - A priest was sentenced to 80 months in federal prison for trying to have sex with a minor. James P. Grady, 59, exchanged more than 25 emails with an address listed in the "adult services" section of Craigslist before undercover police arrested him at his home on July 29, 2009, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said Grady agreed to pay $80 for 30 minutes of kissing and oral sex with a 16-year-old girl. Prosecutors said investigators found images of child pornography on Grady's personal laptop computer.
Grady was pastor at St. Raphael the Archangel Church in south St. Louis when he was arrested. He pleaded guilty to one felony count of child pornography.
Grady was also fined $12,500 and will be evaluated for sex offender treatment. He will be on supervised release for life and will be banned from parks, schools and places where children gather, unless he gets special permission.
Grady also had to forfeit his laptop, car and cash.
