WASHINGTON (CN) - Live poultry dealers will be given the chance to negotiate poultry growing arrangements with the growers, beginning Jan. 4, according to a new United States Department of Agriculture rule.
This is to give both parties a clearer idea of whether to accept the terms of the poultry growing arrangement. The new rule also allows growers to discuss the terms of their poultry growing arrangement with business and financial professionals before committing to building or upgrading poultry houses.
