DALLAS (CN) - Parents who bought a computer loaded with educational programs for their children claim in court that the machine was also loaded with hardcore pornography.
Eliasin and Reina Munoz sued PCH Education Corp. in Dallas County Court. They say that not only did the computer expose their children to porn, but the educational programs were no good.
The Munozes say they paid the Fort Worth-based company more than $3,200 for the computer and programs in December 2010.
"The computer was to be used, as advertised, for children's education," the complaint states. However, "The computer not only contained ineffective 'education' programs, but also contained hard-core pornography that was inadvertenly viewed by the young children of the Munoz's."
The parents say the pornography traumatized their children and "irreparably injured" them emotionally.
"It is impossible for the pornography to not have been knowingly added to the computer, as a consequence of the knowing conduct of the defendant," the complaint states.
"It was forseeable that children would use the product and be exposed to the pornography." The Munozes seek actual and exemplary damages for fraud, deceptive trade, breach of contract and negligence.
